The vet finally gave us some calm me down pills for our Norwegian Forest Tiger. The vet has done it before with her fully under following dental work but says her teeth are fine this year. Without a trim in early summer she is lethargic, even as a strictly indoor cat in air conditioning. Following her lion cut she is frisky and plays like a kitten. The pills seem to work ... we successfully trimmed her claws yesterday, previously a sure invitation for a bloodletting. Wish us luck.

I couldn't get a vet to groom a severely matted feral cat. He was old, and the vet said they would need to sedate feral cats, but they wouldn't do it with 18 and 19 year old feral cats.. A brother and a sister. Unfortunately, the sister would never let me touch her, and disappeared right before Thanksgiving 2023. Her brother, on the other hand, always let me pet him. The way I got rid of his mats was by getting coconut oil on my fingers, and massaging it into his skin, underneath his mats. I went very slow, getting the mats to lift up a little at a time, and using a baby scissor to cut little pieces away, making sure I wasn't near his skin. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to use scissors, but there was no other way. I took over two weeks, but the mats are all gone. He loves when I massage his skin. I am now combing and brushing him every day, so it doesn't happen again. He was such a good boy to let me do it.

There are so many different brushes on the market these days. It really doesn’t take much to give you cat a good brush once a week. I have 3 long haired cats and I brush them all once a week. Yes they cry, yes they fight me and no they don’t like it…but better that than to have to put them through this. And mine always get plenty of treats after a good brush

I always wondered how my groomer gets my toy poodle looking and smelling so good. Now I appreciate her even more. I'm gonna increase her tip for sure.

I’m in awe. I just acquired 2 cats 4 & 6. Badly matted especially across the back. Horrific dandruff. Both are overweight imo and I just learned from you they may not be able to reach their backs. In two weeks I have appt with vet groomer for rabies shots and they say they will anesthetize them and do a full shave. They aren’t in the position this poor one is but thank you for your video. You were awesome. I wish mine weren’t put to sleep but I certainly can understand. I just want to start over with them. Lower their weight and give them the grooming at home they so badly need. I hope asleep or not my groomer is at least as kind and gentle and attentive to heat and tools as you were. Wow.

My dog has this same issue right now. She is a pit-boxer with some muscle, and has anxiety issues. She won't let me get to her nails to clip them often and one on her back foot has grown into her paw pad. I have her on anxiety chews to see if she'll calm enough, but is there anything else I can give her to ease up any infection that could be coming from it? Vet is coming Tuesday cause I need a hand to get them clipped and treated but if there's anything else I can do in the meantime advice is appreciated.

Many thanks I groom my cat but due to being unwell back problems I couldn't for 6 weeks and sadly when I was feeling better had to be shaved it was unbelievable all the knots matts that was just in that space of time When after shaving is it safe to groom a cat again
